I use an Ipad for reading.  I don't have a Kindle or other reader but I use Calibre to read on my computer and to convert my books into epub format.

Hello! I have a kindle. So you know, different e-readers use different default file formats. The kindle (amazon) uses mobi files. I think the nook (barnes and noble) uses epub. They all should also read pdf files. However, if you download Calibre onto your computer, you will be able to use it to change a book into any of these formats for use on any e-reader. You can then send the files to your e-reader either through email or by side-loading it. Hope this helps. Glad to have you here with us!

*Edit to add: the kindle no longer seems to use mobi files as of Aug. 2022. Now epub files are preferred on the kindle.  Post time 09-29-2023 11:04

absolutely, I don't buy any books from anywhere. my library has Libby and I borrow books from them and send them to my kindle using amazon or free calibre program on computer. if you watch YouTube videos you can find plenty on there that go over this if you need help. if I download something from this website I use the calibre program on my computer to load it to my kindle using the cord that came with the kindle.
