Kole Anwynn is in the hands of a Hegemony officer intent on learning what happened to his wife. Colonel Isiah Herrera will go to any lengths to get the answers he wants and the revenge he desires. Even if that means turning his back on the rules and laws he's supposed to uphold.
Still reeling from the disastrous actions that left Kole in the hands of pirates, Neela is overcome with shock and loss. With help from Ripper and Brie, a small fleet of Rebellion ships is being gathered to launch a rescue attempt. First, though, they need to find out where Kole has been taken.

Deep inside a mysterious planet hidden away from the galaxy, Kole desperately tries to escape enemies from his past that he'd long forgotten. He's forced to rely on his wits and courage in a race to survive long enough to forge new bonds of friendship that will see him through the darkness.
