Sadie Alden has been plagued with visions lately, each more detailed than the last. These premonitions show her in court, all eyes pointed her way… is she about to get into real trouble?
A Hallow Haven Halloween is typically a time to celebrate, but not this year. Something has returned to the islands. An ancient agreement that comes into effect once every hundred years threatens to strip witches practicing magic of their powers, everyone will have to lay low. But there is a voice that only Sadie can hear, one that lets her know something is coming for her. Can she protect herself without using magic?
Over the course of a year Sadie’s cousin lost it all: her life, her boyfriend, and her patience. The last thing anyone needs is a ghost with a thirst for vengeance, especially as October 31st approaches. The line between the living and the dead will be at its thinnest, meaning that Greta could cause real harm with her powers unless someone can get through to her.
A letter summons Sadie away from the main island to investigate a crime that has seemingly been solved, but the facts don’t add up. Her new husband can’t help her, her guardian has to keep his distance, and the voice in her head lets her know that she should sleep with one eye open.
After this, nothing will be the same.
