Sadie Cooper's fledgling detective agency is sinking. Never one to give up easily, she won't let go, even when her only client pays in leftover mashed potatoes. Her oldest friend, Luke, doesn't approve of her new venture, and neither does her father. Sadie can barely make ends meet, but just as she begins to feel discouraged, help arrives in the form of a new client, one whose bizarre story of possible murder will suck her into a vortex of dead ends and strange twists.
